How to play Draw the Road
- Drag to draw the missing road. Your line becomes solid asphalt the moment you lift: bridges across gaps, ramps up to a ledge, dips under a crane.
- Press Drive (Space). The van drives itself at a steady speed: climbs slow it down, a climb steeper than about 40° stalls it, and a downhill builds speed for a jump.
- Stop on the drop point by the house to deliver. Water, a fall, a crusher, flipping over or stalling ends the run, and the card tells you which.
- Earn a star for delivering, one for every package along the way, and one for using ink at or under the star mark on the ink bar. Three stars open a Rush hour time to beat.
- Missed? Edit road brings your road back with the van's last path dotted in. Tap or click a road to select it, then Delete it; Undo removes the last one and Clear starts over.
- Later districts add water, drawbridges and lifts on a cycle, crushers, boost strips, no-ink zones and a van that drives left. Read the dashed outlines: that is where a moving part will be.
About this game
Draw the Road is a physics puzzle about one simple job: get the delivery van home. Every street at dusk is missing a piece, and the only tool you have is a limited supply of ink. Whatever you draw becomes real asphalt with a dashed centre line, and when you press Drive the van takes it at a steady cruising speed while the physics engine decides what happens. Gentle ramps climb, anything steeper than about 40 degrees stalls, a downhill builds the speed you need to jump a gap, and a sharp kink can tip the van over. Thirty-two handmade levels across four districts each bring something new: the Suburb teaches bridges, hills and drops; the Harbour adds water that ends the run, cranes you cannot draw through and drawbridges on a timer; the Works adds crushers, boost strips and steam vents; and Uptown sends you across rooftops, through lift shafts and down a tower block with a van that drives the other way. Each level has three stars for delivering, collecting every package and saving ink, and a Rush hour time to beat once you have all three. A new Daily route is generated every day and checked to be solvable, with a streak to keep, and five van liveries unlock as you go. Your progress stays in this browser, and a reload brings back the level you were on with your road still drawn.

On a phone or tablet: Draw with a finger: a magnifier above your finger shows exactly where the road goes. Drive, Undo and Clear are the big buttons under the street when upright and beside it when sideways; tap a road to select it and Undo turns into Delete. Pause and the city map sit at the top. Left-handed and Vibrate are in the pause menu.
Questions
Is Draw the Road free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser on a computer, tablet or phone, with nothing to download and no sign-up. Your stars and unlocks are saved in this browser.
Can I play it on my phone?
Yes. Draw with your finger and a magnifier shows exactly where the road goes. Drive, Undo and Clear are large buttons that never cover the street, it works upright or sideways, and there is a left-handed layout in the pause menu.
Why did my van stall or flip?
The van drives at a steady speed and never brakes. A climb steeper than about 40 degrees stalls it, and a sudden sharp bend or a steep drop onto flat ground can tip it over. Smooth curves work best; the fail card tells you what went wrong and the dotted line shows where the van went.
How do stars and Rush hour work?
You get one star for delivering, one for collecting every package, and one for using ink at or under the star mark on the ink bar. With three stars on a level, a Rush hour time appears: deliver faster than it to earn a Rush medal. Eight medals unlock the Night Courier van.
