Dot Quest

How to play Dot Quest

  1. Press on star 1 and drag through the numbered stars in order. Each star you reach locks with a flash; the next one pulses.
  2. Join the last star and the picture blooms: an etched star-atlas drawing with gold leaf, added to your atlas.
  3. Every sky has three stars to earn: finish it, finish under the par time, and finish flawless (one stroke, no wrong star, no hint).
  4. Touching a star out of order, or an unnumbered decoy, snaps your line and costs a strike. Three strikes and the sky is lost; take too long and dawn breaks.
  5. Lift your finger or mouse if you need to, then press on your last star to carry on. The one-stroke bonus is gone, but the line is kept.
  6. Hit stars dead centre for Clean bonuses that build a combo up to x4, and skim past hazards without touching them for Close +50.
  7. Stars open six charts, each with its own twist: Harbour adds decoys, Drift moves the stars, Lantern only shows numbers near your pen, Blind makes you memorise the order, and Eclipse mixes them all.
  8. Meteor Rush (after 3 skies) puts quick skies on one clock: each bloom adds time, each wrong star takes 3 seconds. The Daily sky is the same for everyone each day.

About this game

Dot Quest is connect-the-dots rebuilt as a skill game for a night sky. Every picture is an original star-atlas etching drawn in code for this game: a cut gem, a paper plane, a lighthouse, a koi, a phoenix, a skull, a game controller, a samurai kabuto, a ringed world and a stag with full antlers. You drag one continuous line through the numbered stars, and when the last one locks the lines flare, the etching blooms out from the middle and gold leaf catches the light. The challenge is in how you get there: a par time on every sky, a one-stroke bonus, Clean hits that build a combo, and hazards that snap your line. Forty-eight skies are split into six charts that each change the rules. Harbour hides unnumbered decoy stars right beside your path, Drift sets the stars orbiting until you catch them, Lantern only lights the numbers near your pen, Blind shows the order for a few seconds before it vanishes, and Eclipse throws decoys, drift and hidden numbers at you together. Stars open new charts and seven line inks. Meteor Rush strings quick, mirrored skies on one clock for a high score, and the Daily sky gives everyone the same picture and twist each day, with a streak to keep.

Questions

Is Dot Quest free?

Yes. It is free to play in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to download and no sign-up. Your stars, bests and unlocks are saved in this browser.

Can I play it on a phone or tablet?

Yes. Draw with your finger: the next star catches your finger from a wide ring, a loupe above your finger shows the stars underneath, and Hint, Retry and Pause are large on-screen buttons. It works upright or sideways, with a left-handed layout in the pause menu.

How do the three stars work?

Every sky has three goals: bloom the picture, beat its par time, and finish flawless, meaning one unbroken stroke with no wrong star and no hint. Goals count across tries, so you can earn the par star on one run and the flawless star on another.

What happens if I touch the wrong star?

Your line snaps back to the last star you joined and you lose one of three strikes. Lose all three, or let the clock reach dawn, and the sky is lost; Retry starts it again at once.

What are Meteor Rush and the Daily sky?

Meteor Rush opens after you bloom three skies: short skies come one after another on a single clock, each bloom adds time and each wrong star costs 3 seconds. The Daily sky is one picture and twist shared by everyone that day; play it on consecutive days to build a streak and unlock the Solar ink.

Is this the Kids Drawing Dot Quest?

It keeps the idea of the Dot Quest game from the Kids Drawing app, joining numbered dots to reveal a picture, but this web version is redrawn and rebalanced for older players with timed skies, decoys, moving stars and memory rounds.
