How to play Crayon Cars 3D

1. Pick a car and draw a livery on it in the Paint tab: it wraps your car in the race.
2. Start the Sketchbook Cup. Press gas right as the light turns green for a launch boost.
3. Steer against each corner or the curve pushes you wide into the wall.
4. Hold drift while turning: after 1 second the sparks turn blue, after 2 seconds orange. Let go for a speed boost.
5. In Race, pick Sketch and draw a closed loop: it becomes a track you can race against seven rivals or against your own ghost.
6. Hit the cyan pads, pass rivals and finish in the top 3 of a cup's four races to open the next cup.

About this game

Crayon Cars 3D is a cartoon lap racer drawn like a comic: chunky low-poly cars, flat cel shading and thick ink outlines. You start every cup at the back of an eight-car grid and fight through seven rivals over three laps, with points of 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 per race. Drifting is the skill that matters: hold a drift through a corner to charge a blue or orange boost, but clip the wall and the charge is gone. Four cups take you from wide sweepers in the Sketchbook Cup to hairpins and hills, narrow bridge decks with no walls over the sea, and a foggy Midnight Cup. A podium opens the next cup, wins unlock six more cars, and finishing the Midnight Cup opens the faster 150cc and Pro classes. Time trial has a ghost of your best run and a gold time on every track, and Track Sketch turns a loop you draw into a new track with its own rivals, ghost and gold time.

On a phone or tablet: Gas is automatic. Drag your thumb on the left side to steer (or turn on Tilt in the pause menu), hold the Drift button while turning, and use Brake beside it. The ↺ button puts you back on the road. Best held sideways. The buttons follow how you play: on a touch laptop they appear at your first tap and hide when you press a key; On-screen controls (Auto, Always, Off) and Left-handed are in the pause menu and the Race tab.
