Who we are

Moji Pals is made by DOODLECUB (“we”) under the Doodle Cub name. Contact: [email protected].

What the app collects and uses

Moji Pals is free to download, works offline and without an account, and has no ads, no tracking and no analytics that leave the device. Its one optional purchase is made through Apple behind a grown-up question. Nothing your child says or does in the app is sent to us.

• Microphone: only after a grown-up allows it when iOS asks. Your child says letters and words out loud and hears their own voice back. Each recording is a short temporary file on the device that is played back and then deleted; it is never saved or sent. Grown-ups can turn this off in the app (“Say it out loud”, “Play my child’s voice back”).
• Child profiles: up to 3 profiles with the name you type and the child’s progress, saved on the device only. Each can be reset or removed in the grown-ups area.
• Parental gate: the grown-ups area, links that leave the app, email, printing practice sheets and editing names open only after a grown-up answers a question.
• Practice sheets: a grown-up can print or share a practice sheet (a PDF that may show the child’s name) through the share sheet; it goes only where you send it.
• Links out of the app: our website and e-mail open only after the parental gate.
• Credits: kana stroke order data is from KanjiVG (© Ulrich Apel, CC BY-SA 3.0); the app’s fonts are under the SIL Open Font License. Both are built into the app and need no connection.
• Apple In-App Purchase: for Moji Pals Full (one-time, with Family Sharing). Apple handles payment; we never see your card details or your Apple ID.

Children

Moji Pals is made for children aged 5 and under. It has no ads, no chat, no sign-up and no analytics, and it collects no personal information: names and voices stay on the device. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

• Turn off the microphone in the device’s Settings app at any time.
• Delete the app to remove what it saved on the device.
• We never sell personal information.
• Ask us to access or delete information about you by writing to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.
